Posted on December 30th, 2006 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Hollywood- TMZ caught up with porn star Mary Carey outside of Koi restaurant [this week], where Mary was knocking back a few to get over the papers filed against her by near-namesake Mariah Carey.

Apparently, Mimi doesn’t like getting confused with Mary and has opposed Mary’s request to trademark the name. Mary says Mariah is “Crazy! She’s Crazy! Mary’s my name!”

While TMZ cameras rolled, Mary fielded a phone call informing her that one of her spurned “stalkers” has issued a press release in support of Mariah. Her bubbly attitude seemed to burst.

Woman charged with malicious castration for Christmas party fight

LILLINGTON, N.C. [Herald-Sun] – A woman was charged with malicious castration for allegedly attacking a man during a Christmas party, police said.

Rebecca Arnold Dawson, 34, is accused of grabbing the genitals of a 38-year-old man during a fight that erupted early Tuesday morning at a party hosted by the man’s girlfriend. All three were heavily intoxicated, Lillington Police Chief Frank Powers said.

“I believe he needed more than 50 stitches to repair the damage, but he is back home at this point,” police Cpl. Brad Stevens said Friday. “All we can tell you is that the injury was done with her hands. There were no weapons used.”

Witnesses gave conflicting stories to police, who discovered a bloody scene after being called to the home for a domestic disturbance, Powers said. Other details weren’t provided and a phone number for Dawson was unlisted.

North Carolina law describes malicious castration as cutting off, maiming or disfiguring a person’s genitals with the intent to hurt or render the victim impotent.

Dawson, who was released from jail Wednesday on $50,000 bond, also was charged with assault causing serious bodily injury, malicious conduct by a prisoner, and damage to government property for damaging a police cruiser. She also allegedly spit on an officer, Stevens said.

The arrest was the first of its kind in Lillington, a town about 30 miles south of Raleigh, Powers said.

Miss Nevada USA Won’t Get Her Tiara Back

Posted on December 30th, 2006 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

NEW YORK [AP] — Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees is not getting her tiara back after losing it because she appeared in a slew of prurient pictures — and that’s final, pageant officials said Friday in response to speculation stirred up by pageant co-owner Donald Trump.

“The Miss Universe Organization has thoroughly considered the request of Ms. Katie Rees to be reinstated as Miss Nevada USA 2007,” Paula M. Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, said in a statement released to The Associated Press. “In light of the serious nature of the circumstances, there is no recourse but to stand by our decision.”

Trump, who owns the Miss Universe Organization and Miss USA with NBC, told the television show “Extra” in a segment broadcast Thursday that he was looking at the Dec. 21 decision to fire Rees, fueling buzz that the beauty queen might be reinstated.

Rees was stripped of her title after racy photos of her appeared on the Internet. Some of the photos showed Rees, 22, kissing other young women, exposing one of her breasts and pulling down her pants to show her thong underwear at a party in Tampa, Fla.

Rees’ lawyer had also asked that his client be given a second chance similar to the one recently given to Miss USA Tara Conner, who was caught drinking in New York bars when she was still underage.

Trump decided to allow Conner to remain Miss USA after she agreed to go into rehab and undergo drug testing.

Baltimore 31 Buffalo 14 - Ravens need help to get home field throughout the playoffs, but they’ll handle to Bills with no problem.

Mariah Files Formal Bid in Carey Dispute

Posted on December 29th, 2006 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Los Angeles [Smoking Gun ] — After threatening legal action to protect her valuable name from an encroaching porn star, Mariah Carey yesterday filed a formal opposition to the bid by actress (and former California gubernatorial candidate) Mary Carey to trademark her stage name. In a notice filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the pop singer’s company, Automatic Princess Holdings, argues that Mary Carey’s bid to trademark her name for use in adult films, DVDs, cassettes, computer programs, and other commercial endeavors is likely to result in confusion for the consumer. The public, Mariah Carey contends, is “likely to mistakenly associate the goods offered” by Mary Carey–whose real name is Mary Cook–with the performer’s “goods and services.” The December 27 notice of opposition, a copy of which you’ll find below, requests that Mary Carey’s trademark attempt be rejected by USPTO officials. Mary Carey, 26, has appeared in films like “Hot Showers 6″ and “Lesbian Big Boob Bangeroo 2,” and received 11,000 votes in her 2003 election won by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Mariah Carey, 36, is, as her filing notes, “a world-famous singer, musical performer, and celebrity.” She also appeared in the 2001 film “Glitter.”

No Health Hazards in Jack Off Dressing?

Posted on December 29th, 2006 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Wheaton IL [Naperville Sun] - Principal Jill Bullo assured parents in a letter last week that salad dressing contaminated by a Wheaton North High School student poses no health hazards.

“We are pleased to report that no follow-up medical attention is needed for any student who ingested Ranch salad dressing,” Bullo said in the letter mailed to parents Dec. 22.

Marco Castro, 17, confessed to police Dec. 12 that he had taken a salad dressing container Dec. 6 from the school cafeteria and ejaculated into the contents in a nearby restroom. He then returned the container to the cafeteria.

According to Bullo, the matter has been investigated by the DuPage County Health Department and the Illinois Department of Public Health.

“Based on this investigation, students and parents do not need to take any health-related actions relative to this situation,” Bullo said. “There is no risk to students.”

Health Department and school officials cited privacy laws in refusing to give more information about Castro’s tests.

The contents of the salad dressing container remained in the junior-senior cafeteria for more than two days until students reported the incident to school officials. At least two students reported eating the tainted dressing, District 200 officials said.

Bullo said she could not comment on how Castro was reprimanded by the school or if he had been suspended. “We did what we could in the matter,” she said.

Castro, a senior at Wheaton North, was charged with attempted aggravated battery and disorderly conduct, a class A misdemeanor. If students press charges against Castro, he could face felony charges.

Castro is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 24.

Playboy sues Israeli clothing company

Posted on December 29th, 2006 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Chicago [Chicago Business.com] — Playboy Enterprises International Inc. has sued an Israeli clothing manufacturer for breach of contract and selling unauthorized Playboy-logoed items.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago, alleges that Play All Ltd. failed to uphold its end of a licensing contract with Chicago-based Playboy and infringed on Playboy’s registered trademark by selling unauthorized merchandise emblazoned with the iconic Playboy rabbit head.

Playboy says Play All ignored Playboy’s request to stop selling unauthorized items and wants a judge to order the company to stop.

“Play All’s continuing illegal conduct therefore irreparably harms Playboy,” the lawsuit says. “It infringes and dilutes the value of Playboy’s trademarks, diminishes Playboy’s reputation and destroys the goodwill among consumers that Playboy has devoted years and millions of dollars to develop.”

Playboy alleges that Play All’s actions have caused Playboy more than $100,000 in damages.

Neither Playboy nor a lawyer for the company returned a call. A representative of Play All could not be reached for comment.

In an April 1, 2004, licensing agreement, Playboy authorized Play All to manufacture and sell certain logoed clothing and apparel in Israel, according to the lawsuit.

The items, including jewelry and handbags, were to hit store shelves no later than Nov. 1, 2004, according to the lawsuit.

Playboy alleges that Play All breached its contract in early 2005 when the Israeli company sublicensed the manufacturing and selling of unauthorized products to another company without Playboy’s permission, failed to have all items ready for sale by Nov. 1, 2004, and did not provide a required letter of credit.

Playboy wants an order that Play All cease selling all trademarked items and destroy any remaining inventory, account for sales of all authorized and unauthorized items, disgorge all profits made from selling Playboy merchandise after the Chicago company terminated its licensing contract and pay damages in an amount to be determined at trial.
